SJTP is often looking for exceptional people who want to give back to the community and join our mission. SJTP provides empowerment and community to women who are victims and survivors of domestic violence. By amplifying the voice and contribution of women through positive role modelling, deeper connections, and influencing societal evolutions. Through industry events, awards, education, corporate programs, and innovation space.

Graphic Designers (Communications & DEI)

Do you have an eye for conceptualising designs, with a passionate use of colours… Are you a canva and adobe expert who has templates for every project and campaign that you deliver… Is branding and attention to detail what you dream about when you go to sleep? Then we need you! You will also have the free range to bring your ideas to the table and to get involved in strategic communications planning.

 

Social Media (Communications)

Do you love creating engaging social media content? Keep our 10,000+ followers informed of our events, initiatives and programs. You will also get to shine the torch on the incredibly talented women in the tech field of WA through our Awards promotions and help people make meaningful connections through our network.

 

Marketing Content Writer (Communications)

We are looking for a word smith who is comfortable creating newsletters and EDMs to join our team. In this role, you will be the creative writer who collaborates within the SJTP volunteer network, telling the stories of our amazing events, initiatives, volunteers and partners. We want engaging and attention-grabbing copy that has our community celebrating the success of SJTP and the community we serve.

 

Website (DEI)

Are you a tech savvy expert who has experience in using WordPress? If yes, then we want you! To have a passion for technology and expertise in systems this will help you to deliver and promote exciting stories on our website, collaborating with volunteers to collate content for initiatives and events run by SJTP.

 

Content Writer (DEI)

Do you love creating written content to share stories and communicate value? Our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) team are looking for talented writers to create curated content that will visualize our journey. 

 

VOLUNTEER AS AN INDIVIDUAL

The opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life is at the heart of the volunteer experience. At Survivor’s Journey to Peace, we recognize that volunteers are a valuable resource and our best ambassadors. Volunteers make the choice to help. Simply, because they care, volunteers have a far-reaching positive impact on our clients and the community.

 

Each year our volunteers provide countless hours of service to Survivor’s Journey to Peace.  We simply could not provide life-changing services to victims of domestic abuse and their families without the support and commitment of our volunteers.  We hope you’ll join us as we strive to achieve our mission of providing help and hope to those affected by domestic abuse.

 

HOW CAN I HELP?

 

We know that individual skills and interests vary and that not everyone can volunteer the same amount of time. Therefore, we offer many opportunities with various time commitments.

 

Direct Service – Work With Clients

All direct service volunteers must undergo a background screening, complete the Statement of Confidentiality, sign the Volunteer Consent Agreement, and complete the direct service training program.  

 

If you’ve had prior domestic violence training or experience, please provide proof of equivalent training and/or experience. Survivor’s Journey to Peace training program includes crisis intervention, active listening, advocacy, criminal and civil justice, social services, and problem-solving skills as they relate to domestic violence.

The following are direct service opportunities available:

• Children’s Program/Mentor Volunteer 

• Crisis Intervention Hotline

• Group Facilitator

• Internship

​

The Women’s Safe House also provides non-direct service opportunities. Volunteers must complete 2- Hour Domestic violence training, undergo a background screening, complete the Statement of Confidentiality, and sign off on the Volunteer Consent and Agreement form.

1. Successfully Complete Background Screening

2. Attend Volunteer Information Session

3. Complete and submit Steps 1 and 2 and email your completed forms to Survivorsjourneytopeace@gmail.com.

The volunteer information session is required to volunteer. If you are unable to attend the information sessions please e-mail the Volunteer Coordinator for other options.
